You'll see lots of numbers and stats flying around about the real estate market. Stats, without context, might not tell you the right story. I'm here to put that right.
So, What's The Story?
As I mentioned, numbers alone don't really tell you much. This graph from CREB® tells us a lot more:
This graph gives us an overview of the real estate market in Calgary, with three main facts:
If you've been watching any news lately, this tells a different story than you may have heard about housing in Canada or North America generally. That's because Calgary (and to an extent, Alberta) is seeing different forces at work, leading to different results in the market.
And your community within (or near) Calgary, for properties similar to yours, will also have a story of its own, which could be quite different from this one.
